Loomis is small-town Placer County: rural residential acreage, old orchard land, horse properties, and decomposed granite soil in the Loomis Basin between Rocklin and Penryn. Summers are hot and dry, wells and irrigation are a real cost on big lots, and dry grass is a fire concern every August.
