Flat, faded, lumpy, smelly, or seams pulling apart? We remove your old turf and rebuild what's underneath using the same 10-step process we use on every new install. Some steps may be skipped if a previous contractor already completed them correctly, for example sprinkler heads that are already capped or edging that's still solid. We inspect every layer and only do what your yard actually needs.

We pull up the old turf and infill and haul it away, then dig out any failed base, leftover sod, soil and roots so we're building on a clean, properly graded slate.
If part of the existing base is solid and correctly graded, we may be able to keep it. We'll tell you at the estimate instead of tearing out more than needed.

We confirm all irrigation is capped and the heads removed. On a replacement this is often already done by the previous contractor, so we verify it and fix anything left leaking. We also make sure drainage is accessible and sufficient, and install or repair drainage if it's needed.

We install industrial-grade woven landscape fabric across the entire area to help prevent weeds and deter rodents. Missing or torn fabric is one of the most common problems we find under failing turf.

We install or replace UV-coated or pressure-treated 2x4 edging around the perimeter wherever the turf doesn't meet concrete such as a pathway, patio, mow strip, or pool deck. Existing edging that's still solid can stay.
This is what keeps your edges locked down and crisp for the life of the lawn.
If interested in upgrades such as concrete patio pours or mowstrips, let us know.

We add or rebuild three to five inches of Type II base rock as needed. We never use crushed demolition concrete as base rock, no matter what it saves.
The base is then plate compacted in multiple passes to guarantee a stable installation and proper drainage underneath.

On sloped yards and putting greens, we install two inches of decomposed granite over the base.
It is plate compacted so the top of the installation contours correctly with the rest of your landscape design and any existing grading or hardscape.

We install new USA-made turf using five-inch nails, set every six to eight inches across the entire area.
Every edge is tucked three-quarters of an inch to a full inch over the perimeter line, then pressed in with a carpet spade tool so no seam or border is ever visible.
Where the craftsmanship shows
Pet applications, our S-seam technique, and fully tucked edges are what keep seams invisible for fifteen years or more.

We install infill matched to how you use the yard: silica sand on every install, plus odor-control infill for pets and cooling infill on our Elite tier. Infill keeps the turf locked in place and the blades standing upright rather than matting down.
On putting greens, more infill produces a faster stimp speed, so we dial it in to how you actually want the green to play.

A heavy-duty industrial power brush spreads the infill evenly throughout the yard and stands every blade upright, which is what gives a finished lawn that full, natural look.
If your current turf is in good shape and just looks tired, a professional turf cleaning may be all you need. Ask us at the estimate.

We confirm your satisfaction before you make final payment, not after. We walk the yard with you and go over every edge, seam, and transition.
